Pretty amazing. I don't even really know that I liked it, but i couldn't pull myself away from it. Seriously, it took me forever to come around to seeing because it looked kind of generic and boring. But really, it was kind of awesome. Blue people, really cool planet, and the story was unoriginal, but interesting. My money's on this one for best picture and I don't even think I'd be mad about it. Check it out in the theater in 3D, it's worth it.
I've been very interested in reading all your Best Picture thoughts. We diverge a little, in that I loved The Hurt Locker, and was pretty meh about Avatar. I agree that it's worth seeing in 3D, I just couldn't get over the triteness of aspects of the story. I wish that it surprised me in some way, other than how it looked. Because of that, I'll be rooting for other movies to win Best Picture.
ReplyDeleteI was so freaking amazed by this movie, I cannot even tell you. Story schmory. This movie made the real world (like the one I live it) seem stupid. The ultimate fantasy. If I was allowed to sit, I would totally go see it in the theater again in a second, which I haven't done since I can remember!
