I'm not entirely sure when it happened. But, I don't read anymore.
Really. I read almost nothing.
If it's not on a street sign or posted on Facebook, it might as well be written in invisible ink.
This is weird for me. I've always been a reader. When I was growing up, my parents read to me, we lived in a print-rich environment, and I owned the first 50 Baby-Sitters Club books. Books before bed, newspapers after dinner...whatever.
Now, if I'm in a waiting room, I search through the piles looking for the magazines with the most pretty pictures.
People ask why I stopped writing. I couldn't really pinpoint it, but I finally figured it out. It's really hard to write without reading.
I'm on a program now. First, I committed to checking news websites again. Then, I moved on to opening and reading the articles, rather than just gleaning information from the titles. I am still incappable of reading books that aren't pur entertainment...baby steps.
Alas, I'm writing again. Sorry for the typos, I haven't graduated to proofreading, yet. That's, like, step 6 or 7 or something.
